Puberty Information Meeting - Year 5 and 6
As part of the Personal, Social and Health Education curriculum, the children in Year 5 and 6 will soon be learning about how the body changes during puberty.
Learning about changes in puberty involves the children watching an age appropriate video, which has been approved by Governors. Children will watch the video in two separate groups (boys and girls) and discuss any issues raised - the girls will work with Miss McHale and Mrs Oxley while the boys will work with Mrs Davies and Mr Little. If children have questions, they will be encouraged to write them down and put them in a box. Teachers will answer them in accordance with statutory guidance. However, if questions seem to be irrelevant or not age appropriate they will be encouraged to speak to parents.
Recent changes in RHE (policy on the website), means parents are now unable to withdraw children from these sessions. Therefore, if you have any concerns, please come and view the materials on Wednesday 26th February at 3:25pm.
